After stepping away from this blog for a few months, I’ve decided to come back to it with a new perspective.
When I started this website in the summer of 2020, it was supposed to be a jumping off point for a possible new independent adventure. After a couple months of being laid off from my corporate job (due to covid), I decided to make a go at leveraging my sales and marketing knowledge to help educate people on the most refined way to up their sales game. Things started off well and I hit the ground running – within a month I had garnered a few thousand followers on my Instagram, posted several articles here, and even recorded a few episodes of my podcast.
But then things dropped off.
After completing a licensing course for real estate, I started my own business and before I knew it I had no time to blog about sales – I was back to living it. Flash forward a remarkable year and a whole lot of sales later, and my mind is drifting back to this website and blog and thinking, wondering, what about that little passion project? How can I pick up the threads in a new way?
After starting and following through on a second blog and brand (for real estate), I like to think I’ve learned a lot about creating content and writing for business and also for pleasure (did I mention I also wrote a 55,000 word novel during covid?). One of the key things I found out along the way is that to stick with something, it either needs to earn you money and create progress – or fulfill a creative need and allow you the freedom to explore anything you please. While my other blog is helping me earn, I doubt you want me to share the fascinating insights of my local real estate market and community.
That’s why I want to take this blog and website in a new direction.
Of course there will still be some articles about sales and marketing, as well as meeting with people face-to-face and best practices for business. The thing is – its also going to be more than that, so I can have the freedom to explore all of the things that I’m passionate about and that excite me – people, places, things, politics, ideas, feelings, thoughts, inspirations. Lifestyle, health, business, money. It’s going to be a lot more rounded out and exploratory.
It’s going to be a lot more fun.
Like most people, I’m feeling a bit sick of all the things I see on the internet. Squabbling, one-sided points of view, trolls, endless ads and not-so-subtle sales pitches. There isn’t going to be a social media campaign, post quota or advertising budget. Part of what I want this website to be is the exact opposite of all of that.
If you’re still reading this – I hope you’re as excited as I am to explore something new.
Cheers.
